USIP Peace Scholar Fellowship Program USA 2024-2025

The USIP Fellowship Program

The USIP Fellowship Program aims to uplift underrepresented voices in international relations, conflict studies, and related fields, focusing on areas like diplomacy and global policymaking. Proposals that explore strategies to reduce conflicts in the Indo-Pacific, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East—especially in regions where preventive measures are lacking or ineffective—will be prioritized.

Topics of particular interest include violence reduction and addressing organized crime, which contribute to community instability and drive migration from Central and South America, the Caribbean, and beyond. Additionally, proposals supporting democratic transitions and tackling violent extremism in regions such as East Africa, the Sahel, and West Africa will also be considered.

Research projects may delve into how American adversaries create conflict to diminish U.S. influence in strategically important countries. Selected fellows will receive a stipend of up to $20,000, distributed in three instalments to help cover living expenses.
