Abdul Aziz- A Journey of Resilience: My UGRAD Exchange Program Experience and Selection Journey

I am Abdul Aziz Mohmand, and I hail from the district of Mohmand, a place where life presents its fair share of challenges. Growing up in my hometown, I witnessed firsthand the difficulties faced by each individual in our society. Despite these hardships, I was determined to carve out a better future for myself and those around me. My journey began with my primary education in Mohmand, and after completing my matriculation, I earned a scholarship to pursue an intermediate pre-medical program in Peshawar.

Medicine has always been a passion of mine. The thought of being able to help others, to heal, and to make a difference in people's lives inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field. After completing my intermediate education, I was admitted to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Riphah International University, Islamabad. It was a significant step towards realizing my dream of becoming a healthcare professional.

While pursuing my studies, I developed a keen interest in exploring scholarship opportunities abroad. The idea of gaining international exposure and broadening my horizons was something I aspired to. It was during this time that I stumbled upon the UGRAD semester exchange program, sponsored by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). After watching several videos on YouTube specifically Global Scholarship Network and learning about the program's criteria, I decided to apply for this life-changing opportunity.

In 2023, I applied for the UGRAD exchange program with high hopes. I was selected as an alternate candidate for the Spring 2024 intake, which was both an honor and a disappointment. Despite not making it as a principal candidate due to unforeseen circumstances, I refused to give up. Instead, I saw this as a learning experience and a chance to improve myself.

Determined to succeed, I prepared myself for another try. I applied for the 2024 batch with renewed vigor, putting in countless hours of hard work, fueled by my unwavering belief in my abilities. I drew strength from the prayers of my parents and maintained my faith in God. It is with immense joy that I share the news that I have been selected to participate in the UGRAD exchange program for the January 2025 intake. This journey, which began with a simple dream, is now set to take me to the United States, where I will embark on an educational adventure that will shape my future.

To all those aspiring to achieve their dreams, I have one message: never lose courage. No matter how difficult the journey may seem, always believe in yourself. Have faith in your abilities and trust that with hard work and perseverance, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Remember, setbacks are not the end; they are simply stepping stones towards success.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Usman Bhai and the Global Scholarship Network for their invaluable assistance with my UGRAD applications. Their continued support with the documentation and procedures has been immensely helpful.
I wish all of you the best of luck in pursuing your dreams and achieving your goals. Stay determined, stay focused, and never stop believing in yourself.
