The European Union Traineeships Program 2025, also known as the Blue Book Traineeship, is a golden opportunity for students and graduates to gain high-level work experience within the EU institutions, directorates, agencies, and bodies. This fully funded traineeship in Europe opens twice a year and allows participants to enhance their professional skills in fields such as competition law, human resources, environmental policy, and more.  

During this 5-month internship, trainees will engage in real-world EU projects, participate in meetings, group work, and public hearings, and gain insight into the Commission’s operations and policies. This international experience will provide trainees with a unique perspective on European governance and global cooperation.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria  

Open to EU citizens (limited spots for non-EU nationals)    
Must have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent, at least three years of higher education)    
Less than 6 weeks of prior work experience in an EU institution    
Language Requirements:  

  • Administrative Traineeship: Two EU languages (one at C1/C2 level: English, French, or German; second at B2 or higher)  

  • Non-EU Nationals: One language (English, French, or German) at C1/C2 level  

  • Translation Traineeship: Translation from two EU languages into your main language

📌 Step 2: Complete the online application form    
📌 Step 3: Choose your preferred directorate general (DGs), services, or agencies    
📌 Step 4: Submit your application before the deadline (no documents required at this stage)    
📌 Step 5: Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide supporting documents
