Applications are now open for the Wang Gungwu Fellowship 2027 in Singapore, a fully funded program designed for young scholars and policymakers interested in global power dynamics and their impact on Southeast Asia. This prestigious fellowship provides an opportunity to conduct policy-oriented research and contribute to well-known publications such as ISEAS Perspective and ISEAS Fulcrum.
Hosted by the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute, the fellowship allows participants to present their research findings through seminars and engage with a vibrant network of regional experts. Fellows will also have the opportunity to remain connected with the institute’s research community even after completing the program.
The fellowship focuses on key policy issues, including US–China relations and their implications for Southeast Asia, regional security challenges, economic cooperation, China’s growing influence, and the role of digital technologies in shaping regional perceptions and strategies. It aims to support impactful research that contributes to understanding stability, security, and economic development in the region.
This residential fellowship lasts between 2 to 6 months and provides a platform for postdoctoral researchers and mid-career policymakers to advance their work in a collaborative and resource-rich environment.
